1970 Chevrolet Corvette
“The arrival of the 1970 Corvette happened somewhat later than was typical in the automotive manufacturing industry, due in part to the incredible sales backlog that had occurred during the 1969 model year and also due in part to the UAW (United Workers) strike, which delayed the new Corvette from reaching showrooms until February. For the 1970 model year, Chevrolet introduced a big block 427 that was stroked out to a full 4.00 inches, making it 454 cubic inches. It was the first time that the stroke had been increased since the engine had been introduced in its more conservative iteration.”

This 1970 Chevrolet Corvette has a numbers matching 454 cubic inch big block motor which is mated to a turbo 400 3-speed automatic transmission. This Corvette is finished in its original color of Bridgehampton Blue with blue interior and features power steering, power brakes and a tilt/telescoping steering wheel. The odometer is not accurate.
Although the older paint looks great from 10 feet away upon closer inspection you will see extensive paint crazing. The frame and underside of this 1970 Corvette are solid and appear in great shape.
Although not an original side pipe car this Corvette is fitted with chrome headers leading to 4” chrome side exhaust. Original style side exhaust is also included with the sale.
Drive and enjoy this 1970 Corvette with the current paint or invest in a high-quality paint refinish, either way this is a Big Block car that runs well and sounds great.
